Movie of the Week: To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You

Welcome back!

This week I am bringing you a review of To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You. Full disclaimer, I have never read the book series, so I don’t know how accurate the movie follows the books. I just know that I was entertained by both the first movie and the second one, and fans of the first movie are definitely in for a treat with this one.

If you haven’t watched To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, I would highly recommend watching that first to better understand the characters and the plot of the story. You won’t be hopelessly lost without watching the first movie because the plot is pretty simple for movie #2. I just think the entire series is super cute, and who doesn’t love a cute romance movie? Either way onto the review.

This movie picks up right after the ending of To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before. Lara Jean and Peter are navigating their new relationship with each other. It’s like adorable awkwardness because Lara is so new to the dating scene, and Peter is trying his best to impress her. They are in the honeymoon phase of their relationship though, and everything seems perfect.

Perfect doesn’t last too long though when John Ambrose comes back into Lara Jean’s life. John Ambrose was one of the boys that Lara Jean had written a love letter about, and let’s just say, Lara isn’t too sure if she is over her crush on him. They end up spending quality time together because they volunteer at the same retirement home every week. Even through their little interactions, you can tell that they have chemistry with each other. Chemistry can mean different things to different people though.

While Lara questions her feelings for John Ambrose though, she also begins to feel insecure about her relationship with Peter. She knows that they have real feelings for each other now, but like any teenage girl, she starts to worry that she’s inadequate for Peter. She also starts to wonder about “what if” scenarios about John Ambrose.

Lara Jean, however, isn’t the only person concerned about her and Peter’s new relationship though. Peter from the start knew about Lara Jean’s letters because he was one of the recipients. He probably never imagined having to deal with another guy from the infamous letters who reciprocated Lara Jean’s feelings from the letters. Nobody ever said relationships were easy though.

If you want to continue watching Lara Jean and Peter’s love story unfold and meet Lara Jean’s infamous crushes from over the years, I would highly recommend watching To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before and To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You. Both movies are now streaming on Netflix. Feel free to leave comments about how you felt about this movie, and don’t be afraid to share this post with family and friends. Until next time…
